A native of the Penza province, artist Yuri Nikolaev was born on April 27, 1964. Talented painter, author of bright living works: landscapes, still lifes, fragrant bouquets… In 1988, the young artist graduated from the Penza Art School. K.A. Savitsky, and in 1991 received a degree in "architect" at the Faculty of Architecture of the Penza Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering.

Since 1996, the artist's works have participated in regional and national exhibitions. Yuri Nikolaev's paintings attract with freshness, unobtrusive lightness of paints. The author's characteristic style of writing allows for a subtle transfer of textures, grasping the integrity and organicity of the world in a picturesque way. The flowers really seem alive, protruding above the surface of the canvas! Many spectators rediscovered the splendor of roses and peonies, their luxury and the amazing depth of feelings hidden in satin petals. Such a bright preference of the author in many respects speaks not only of his high skill, but also of fine artistic taste, talent to see more, than fits within the limits of mundaneness.
Some of the author's works are presented in the exposition of the Penza Art Gallery “K.A. Savitsky”. Works by Yuri Nikolaev can be found in both Russian and foreign galleries and collections (USA, England, Germany, France, Spain, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Slovenia, Bulgaria and other countries). Despite the popularity and deep audience interest, Yuri Nikolaev continues to live and work in his hometown.
